The Holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year for e-commerce. To keep up, sellers have to make sure that the seasonal offers are up to date. Keep reading to find out more about the tools that Salestio offers for setting up seasonal offers. In this article, we will explore how Salestio works with discounts and how to sync these offers to Amazon, eBay, or Etsy.

Set up a dedicated Selling List for Holidays

To apply special rules only to a specific set of products, it is best to move them to separate Selling List. This step is totally optional. However, it will help to handle the special offers in one place and make it easier to undo the changes later just move the items back to their original Selling Lists and run the update to apply old settings.

To move items, find them in the Selling List, select, and pick the Move action. Select the new Selling List, and Salestio will move the item while it is still up on the marketplace:

Apply discounts and other price rules

Price-related settings in Salestio can be configured in the Global Profile. When adding settings for temporary occasions like Holiday sales, it is a good practice to create a separate Global Profile with Holiday prices. There is always the option to edit any existing profiles. Go to Salestio > Profiles > Global Profiles and click “Add Global Profile” to create one:

For a simple discount on all items, set the “Price Ratio” to a desired multiplier between 0 and 1. A “0.80” Price Ratio will multiply the prices by 0.80 (20% discount).

As another option, change the Price Mode to use Shopify metafields, a fixed value (Custom mode), or a Price Template configured separately.

New price templates are added in Salestio > Profiles > Price template tab. Here, you can set more complex rules for pricing. For example, different discounts can be set for each price category. The example template below will apply a 10% discount for items up to 10 USD and a 25% discount for items over 10 USD:

After a new Global Profile is created, remember to assign it to the targeted Selling List in the Selling List settings, Seling Profiles section.

Add more flair to the eBay product descriptions

eBay sellers have the option to customize the descriptions and add more details. For example, you can include additional details about the current sale. To add a new Description Template for eBay, go to Salestio > Profiles > Description Template:

Add the new Description Template in the Selling List settings, Selling Profiles section.

Ensure sufficient stock for special offers

To have a smooth experience during the sale, check the store’s inventory beforehand. Some sellers might prefer adding discounts only for a limited number of items. For example, if the store has 40 plushies, but only 15 can be sold at a discount. In cases like this, it will be useful to have a separate Shopify location for discounted products.

Add a new location in Shopify to store the inventory for special offers. To translate it to Salestio, edit the Global Profile and enable this new location:

After adding the location to a new Global Profile, remember to assign it to the corresponding Selling List (Edit Selling List > Selling Profiles section).

Update marketplace products with the new details

With all the preparations done, run the update on the products with special offers. Select the products in the Selling List (or the whole Selling List) and click the Full Revise action. After a few minutes, product details like prices and descriptions will be updated.
