The product image is often the first point of contact with potential buyers. First impression matters a lot, and high-quality images can mean the difference between a sale and a missed opportunity. In this article, we will explore the specifics of sending product images to Amazon or eBay, as well as how Salestio streamlines this process.

Set up Salestio to send images

Salestio sends the pictures as they are listed on the product page of your source store. To get the best results, add a picture for each variation on the products. We will go over each platform to explain the differences.

Amazon

Please keep in mind that the app will not update existing product pages with new pictures. The tips below do not apply if the item in question already exists in the Amazon catalog. These images can be updated only through Seller Central if you have permission to edit products in the Amazon catalog.

Salestio can send images when a new Amazon listing (new ASIN) is created. Check the “Maximum images amount” setting in the Creation Profile and set it to the desired number. This limit will be applied to all listings that you create on Amazon. Add products to a Selling List and send after configuring the profile.

When you are sending products to Amazon, stick to the guidelines provided by the platform: Seller Hub link. Here are some key takeaways from the requirements:

  • The main image must have a pure white background
  • All images must accurately represent the product
  • Do not include the packaging
  • Show only one unit of the product

Carefully follow the guidelines. Ignoring the requirements can lead to products ending up in Drafts on your Seller Central account.

eBay

Salestio can send images for new eBay listings or update existing products with new images. In both cases, you need a configured Creation Profile and product creation enabled.

Keep in mind that eBay requires each variant to have its own picture. Salestio will replace the pictures of the missing variant with the main product image. Remember to have pictures on each variant in the source e-commerce store to get the best look for your listing.

The number of eBay images is configured in the eBay profile in Salestio or directly in the Selling List settings if you do not use eBay profiles as saved templates. Set it to the desired amount here:

Add the products to a Selling List and send them to eBay. If you want to update images for existing listings, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the products you want to update in the Selling List
  2. Run the Full Revise action
  1. Wait a few minutes until the status returns to Linked
eBay Description images

With default settings, Salestio will publish the Product title and Product description as you have them on your source platform. Pictures are not added to your description with default settings. You can change this and customize the description by adding pictures or other elements. This information is sent to eBay in the same way as images (send a new product to eBay or run the Full Revise action to update).

Shopify users can go a step further and utilize Shopify image-type metafields in their description templates. We have a more detailed guide on configuring Shopify and Salestio for this:
Using Images type Metafields to enhance eBay description template

You can save time and effort by syncing your e-commerce store with online marketplaces. Salestio can help with keeping the storefront consistent across the different platforms.
