Salestio is a useful tool for syncing your e-commerce store with eBay, Amazon, or Etsy. With all the actions you can perform, products can remain in different statuses. To better understand what is happening to the items and better manage the Selling Lists, it is useful to know the meaning behind the statuses a bit better. Today we dive into the specifics of managing the Selling List and reading its status.

You can always check the current status of any item by opening a Selling List and looking at the badge:

We will go over each marketplace integration individually to better show the differences. Later, we will explain some limitations when working with an item in a specific status.

How it looks on the Dashboard

For each integration, Salestio will keep track of your products separately. For a simpler overview, all products are counted as 5 categories. Here is how it looks for Etsy:

  • Live — only items in the Active status (connected to the marketplace listing).
  • Error — items in any of the error statuses that need attention (Update Error or Linking Error). Click on Show Errors to start resolving.
  • Pending — inaccessible items currently processing (any “Pending” status).
  • No status — Salestio scans your Shopify store to build an index of items. This counter displays all Shopify items that are not in any of the Selling Lists.
  • Not Active — items that are added to a Selling List, but not sent to the marketplace yet.

Amazon integration

Below are all the possible statuses for the Amazon Selling Lists for three scenarios: connecting items, updating data like quantity or price, and stopping or removing items.

When sending a new item to Amazon

Items that are just added to a Selling List start in the Not Linked status. To learn more about listing on Amazon with Salestio, check out our guide.

  • Not Linked — the item in the Selling List is not linked to the Amazon item. An item might be active on Amazon, but this status only shows that it is not connected to the store. The only actions available with this item are “Send to Amazon” and “Stop & Remove”
  • Pending Linking — it is an active but not completed operation of the connection of the Selling List Product to the Amazon Item. All actions in the state are blocked. 
  • Linked — the item in the Selling List is connected to an Amazon item. The possible actions are  “Update QTY”, “Update Price”, “Update QTY & Price”, “Stop”, “Stop & Remove”
  • Linking Error — the linking operation failed with an error. Detailed information about the error can be found in the Logs. The actions available in this state are “Send to Amazon” and “Stop & Remove”

When updating an item

  • Pending QTY Update / Pending Price UpdatePending QTY & Price Update — it is an active but not completed operation of transferring an update from the Selling List Product to the Amazon Item. All actions in the state are blocked. 
  • Update Error — the operation of transferring an update from the Shopify product to the Amazon item resulted in an error. Detailed information about the error can be viewed from the Selling List product log. The actions available for this item are  “Update QTY”, “Update Price”, “Update QTY & Price”, “Stop”, and “Stop & Remove”.

When stopping an item

  • Pending Product Stop — it is an active but not completed operation of transferring QTY = 0 updates to the Amazon product (e.g. Stop sales).  All actions in the state are blocked. 
  • Pending Product Stop & Remove — it is an active but not completed operation of transferring QTY = 0 updates to the Amazon product (e.g. Stop sales) and the item is requested to be removed from the Selling List. All actions in the state are blocked. 
  • Stopped  — the product is in the Stopped state and is not available for Sale on Amazon with the listed quantity as 0. The actions available for this item are  “QTY Revise”, “Update Price”, “Update QTY & Price”, “Stop”, “Stop & Remove”

eBay integration

Below are possible statuses for eBay items when listing, updating, or stopping them.

Listing new items

When you add an item to a Selling List, it will start in the Not Active status. For a detailed guide on listing eBay items with Salestio, check out our blog post here.

  • Not Active— the item in the Selling List is not linked to the eBay item. An item might be active on eBay, but this status only shows that it is not connected to the store. The only actions available with this item are “Send to eBay” and “Stop & Remove”
  • Active — the item in the Selling List is connected to an eBay item. The possible actions are ‘Full Revise’  ‘Revise QTY’, ‘Revise Price’, ‘Quick Revise’, ‘Stop’, ‘Stop & Remove’
  • Pending Linking — it is an active but not completed operation of the connection of the Selling List Product to the eBay Item. All actions in the state are blocked. 
  • Error — the linking operation failed with an error. Detailed information about the error can be found in Logs. The actions available in this state are ‘Relist” and ‘Stop & Remove’

Updating active items

  • Pending QTY Update / Pending Price UpdatePending QTY & Price Update — it is an active but not completed operation of transferring an update from the Selling List Product to the eBay Item. All actions in the state are blocked.  
  • Update Error — the operation of transferring an update from the Shopify product to the eBay item resulted in an error. Detailed information about the error can be viewed from the Selling List product log. The actions available for this item are  ‘Full Revise’  ‘Revise QTY’, ‘Revise Price’, ‘Quick Revise’, ‘Stop’, and ‘Stop & Remove’.

Stopping and removing items

  • Pending Product Stop — it is an active but not completed operation of transferring QTY = 0 updates to the eBay product (e.g. Stop sales).  All actions in the state are blocked. 
  • Pending Product Stop & Remove — it is an active but not completed operation of transferring QTY = 0 updates to the eBay product (e.g. Stop sales) and the item is requested to be removed from the Selling List. All actions in the state are blocked. 
  • Stopped  — the Selling List product is in the Stopped state and is not available for Sale (QTY = 0). The actions available for this item are  ‘Relist’, ‘Revise’  ‘Revise QTY’, ‘Revise Price’, ‘Quick Revise’, ‘Stop & Remove’, ‘Send to eBay’.

Etsy integration

Below are the statuses for listing, updating, and removing Etsy listings.

Listing items

As usual, new items start as Not Linked in the Selling List before you can send them to the marketplace.

  • Not Linked — the item in the Selling List is not linked to the Etsy item. An item might be active on Etsy, but this status only shows that it is not connected to the store. To successfully link the item, it is required to set the proper Category mapping in the Creation Profile. The only actions available with this item are “Send to Etsy” and “Remove”.
  • Pending Linking — it is an active but not completed operation of the connection of the Selling List Product to the Tsy Item. All actions in the state are blocked. 
  • Linked — the item in the Selling List is connected to an Etsy item. The possible action is ‘Update’
  • Linking Error — the linking operation failed with an error. Detailed information about the error can be found in the Logs. The actions available in this state are “Send to Etsy” and “Remove”.

Updating listings

  • Pending QTY & Price Update — an active operation of transferring an update from the Selling List Product to the Etsy Item. All actions in the state are blocked.
  • Update Error — transferring an update from the Shopify product to the Etsy item resulted in an error. Detailed information about the error can be viewed from the Selling List product log. The actions available for this item are  ‘Update’  ‘Update QTY & Price’, ‘Stop’, and ‘Stop & Remove’.

Removing listings

  • Pending Stop — it is an active but not completed operation of transferring QTY = 0 updates to the Etsy product.  All actions in the state are blocked. 
  • Pending Product Stop & Remove — it is an active but not completed operation of transferring QTY = 0 updates to the Etsy product and the item is requested to be removed from the Selling List. All actions in the state are blocked. 
  • Stopped  — the Selling List product is in the Stopped state and is not available for Sale. The actions available for this item are  ‘Send to Etsy’ and “Remove”.

Inaccessible statuses

You may have noticed that some statuses restrict the kind of actions that you can run on an item. The general logic is the following:

  • “Not Active”/”Not Linked” items can only be listed and not updated, as there is nothing to update on the marketplace.
  • Items that are in processing cannot be changed to avoid errors, so it is advised to wait until they are done.
  • Items with an error status can only be retried (“Update” for “Update Error” or “Send” for “Linking Error”) or removed from the Selling List. It is always best to check the logs on an item and resolve any errors before trying again.
  • Stopped items can only be listed again or removed.

If you try to apply an impossible action for any item, it will be skipped, and a new log message will appear as a reminder:

Two actions are available in any situation: Move and Reset Status.

  • Move does not send any updates to the marketplace and only relocates the selected item to another Selling List.
  • Reset Status drops the connection for the selected item and changes the status to Not Active.
