Shipping products at flexible rates requires additional information like weight and dimensions. If you want to use calculated shipping for Etsy and eBay listings, keep reading to learn how Salestio can send this additional information from e-Commerce stores to the marketplace.
Both eBay and Etsy need additional settings to use calculated shipping. For eBay, make sure to have a customized Shipping Policy:

For Etsy, configure a Shipping Profile in the Etsy account and add it in Salestio:

Salestio can use the weight and dimensions specified on the product page of the e-Commerce store. Unfortunately, Shopify does not have default dimension fields on product pages, so it can require additional setup. If you want to have additional flexibility for dimensions, you can set them up as metafields. Check out the article below for more details:
How to use Shopify Metafields to customize data sent to eBay and Amazon
Shipping-related details for eBay are specified in the eBay Profile in Salestio. You can edit it in Salestio > Profiles > eBay Profiles. If eBay Profiles are not used, the same fields can be edited in the Selling List settings.
Leaving depth, height, width, and weight empty will result in Salestio using the values from the product page in the store. As mentioned earlier, Shopify does not have dimension fields, so only the weight field can be configured this way. For other shops like Shopware or BigCommerce, Salestio can use the store value for dimensions.
Each field can be left empty to use the store value or you can add a number as a custom value. All products using this eBay Profile will be published with the specified value. For Shopify, both dimensions and weight can use metafields.
Weight units depend on preference and how they are set up in the store. There are 4 options accepted by eBay:
KILOGRAM; GRAM; OUNCE; POUND
The dimension unit depends on the current eBay marketplace. For eBay US, inches are used. For the rest of eBay’s marketplaces, it is centimeters. These are default values, and there is no need to specify them in Salestio.
Details used for calculated shipping for Etsy are specified in the Selling List settings (“Selling Profiles” section).
Just like in the eBay integration, weight and dimensions can be left empty to use store values, or specified with a custom value that will be used for all items.
Similarly, Shopify sellers can use metafields in the dimensions and weight fields to further customize the shipping specifics.
Salestio sends weight and dimensions along with other specifics to Amazon only when Product Creation is enabled, so the below tips are applicable only to the Shopify version of Salestio. If a product already exists in the Amazon catalog, this information should already be included in the listing.
The fields for weight and dimensions depend on the selected Amazon category in the Creation Profile. Look for these fields when configuring the mapping. Both Shopify metafields and custom values can be used to specify this information.
If you want to use calculated shipping for Amazon items, make sure to set up a corresponding Shipping Template in Seller Central (Settings > Shipping Settings > Shipping Templates).
Adding sufficient details helps when you want to keep the marketplace stock organized and optimize shipping costs. Salestio helps automate the process of sending shipping details like weight and dimensions while keeping your e-Commerce store synchronized with connected marketplace accounts.
Salestio is available for a wide selection of e-Commerce platforms with a 30-day trial for new users.
