The upcoming holiday season is a perfect time to get creative with the product offers and introduce bundles and kits to your catalogue. At this time, buyers are actively looking for convenience and gift ideas. Grouping products together is beneficial both for sellers and buyers. For you, as a seller, it helps increase the average order sum. For customers, it helps find ready-to-gift sends, saving some money at the same time.

In today’s article, we will explore the variety of bundle types, why you should add them to your offers, and how Salestio works with bundles. Keep reading to find out more.

Shoppers love bundles because they often highlight savings, make it easier to decide what to purchase, and save time for gifts that look more thoughtful. No wonder you wouldn’t want to miss this opportunity to sell more!

The main benefits of selling products in bundles and kits for sellers are the following:

  • Increase the conversion rate. This happens because the buyers are more likely to purchase products if they get a better deal.
  • Manage overstock or slow-moving inventory. You can combine your best-selling products with those that are not purchased often. It will help you keep your inventory better balanced.
  • Improve your visibility. Using better wording for your titles, description, tags, and keywords specifying bundles can help you stand out more among other sellers.

  • Keep customers coming back to you. Unique bundles and kits help create a memorable experience for buyers. As a result, it is more likely that they will purchase from you again.

Types of Bundles and Kits

Of course, you can combine the products however you like. In most cases, it depends on the products you want to sell and what audience you would like to sell them to.

Here are some ideas for how you can group the products.

  1. Classic bundle. This is a regular product bundle where you sell the same product in multiple quantities. This bundle type is useful for consumable or everyday products.
It can be: 3-pack scented candles, 2-pack coffee mugs, a set of 5 socks with festive patterns, a trio of hand sanitizers, a multi-pack of protein bars, etc.
  2. Complementary products. This bundle is perfect if you want to sell more of the products that naturally go together. This bundle type is useful if you want to ecourage customers to get the full experience of the product line.
It can be the following packs: skincare kit (cleanser + toner + moisturizer), coffee bundle (ground coffee + French press + coffee scoop), haircare set (shampoo + conditioner + hair mask), etc.
  3. Themed bundles and kits. They are ideal for gift shoppers, Black Friday or Cyber Monday promotions.
It can be: Winter self-care box (candle + bath salts + cozy socks), Holiday baking set (cookie mix + festive cookie cutters + apron), Chocolate gift box (assorted chocolates + gift bag + ribbon), Spa gift set (facial mask + body scrub + scented lotion)
  4. Mix-and-Match bundles. These are sets of the same product but in different scents, colors, or flavors. They are perfect if you offer variety of options, and customers want to try several of them.
It can be: 3-pack scented candles (choose from vanilla, lavender, cinnamon), skincare mix (choose 3 from moisturizers, serums, or masks), tea sampler (choose 4 different flavors from 10 options), nail polish set (pick 5 colors from seasonal palette), etc.
  5. Bundles with products from different categories. If you sell products from various categories, selling such bundles is a great way for customers to discover more of your catalog.
It can be: laptop + backpack + wireless mouse, running shoes + water bottle + sports socks, camera + tripod + memory card, cookbook + cooking utensils + apron, etc.

For the best experience, combine products into various product bundles. This way, you can achieve more goals.

Price and Promote Bundles

Creating bundles is a half-way to a succesfull Holidays season. The other half is to set up pricing and promote the products.

One of the reasons why shoppers like bundles is that they allow saving money. To get more sales on the bundles, offer at least 10-20% off compared to buying each item separately. At the same time, the bundle still need to be profitable for you. So, make sure to calculate any extrta packaging if it is needed for the bundle.

A good idea is to include some products that are offered only in bundles. It can be even something small or limited-edition. It will make it harder to compare the prices. Besides, even a simple freebie (mini candle, small sample, gift bag) can make your bundle more appealing.

Using rounded numbers on the offers helps avoid confusing customers with complex math. Taking into account that many sellers and companies use rounded numbers, such pricing patterns look more familiar and appealing to buyers.

Salestio has a greate way to round prices if your calucated profitable price looks not so nice. For example, if you calculated that bundle price is $24.63, you can use Salestio to show it as $24.99. To set up Smart Rounding, go to Salestio > Global Profiles. Open the added profile (or create a new one), scroll to the Smart Rounding field and select the preferred option. Save the Global profile. For already listed products, select the products in the Selling List or the whole Selling List and run the Update/Revise Price action.

Promote your bundles wherever it is possible. Use your website, marketplace ads, newsletters, and social media so that more and more shoppers know about your offers.

A good way to promote the offers is to update titles and descriptions to emphasize the values.

Activate Bundles in Salestio

Whereas Salestio is not a tool specifically designed to create bundles and kits, it has a special configuration that allows using them in Salestio to get the orders with the bundled items imported from Amazon, eBay and Etsy.

If the bundle feature is not activated in Salestio, the following error appears when trying to import the order with the bundle to your Shopify store:

Line_items[0].variant_id cannot be a variant with components.

To resolve the error and activate the bundles, go to Salestio > Settings and put a checkbox to the “Use shopify bundles when creating orders” option. Hit the Save button.

If you need to push the order to Shopify and the order has already resulted in the mentioned error, go to Salestio > Orders, locate the order in question, and click View to open the order details page. Click the Export link in the top right block of the Order page. It will push the order with bundled item to Shopify.

Note! For now, Salestio supports the bundles from the generic Shopify Bundle app. If you use another app to create bundles, reach out to us. We will check and see if we can add support for this app as well.
