eBay integration, in both directions

eBay sellers rarely start from an empty account. These videos cover the two directions that matter: existing eBay listings into your store, and store products out to eBay.

Why eBay integration works differently

Most merchants who connect eBay to a store already have an established eBay presence: active listings, feedback and a selling history worth protecting. Their first question is how to take control of what is already listed without breaking it.

Salestio answers that in two ways. You can move existing listings into the app's control, so eBay keeps serving the same listing while your store drives quantity and price. With Product Import you can also pull listings the other way and turn them into store products, which is how sellers who started on eBay build a Shopify catalogue without retyping it.

  • Move active eBay listings under Salestio control so stock and price sync from your store.
  • Connect eBay items to store products in a few clicks during migration.
  • Import eBay listings into Shopify as products with Salestio eBay Product Import.
  • Reuse one HTML description template across your entire eBay catalogue.

What eBay asks for before you list

eBay requires more listing-level configuration than the other marketplaces: business policies for payment, shipping and returns, plus listing duration, item specifics and store categories. None of it is difficult, and all of it has to exist before a product can go live. A missing business policy is the most common reason a first export fails.

The videos below show these settings in context rather than as a checklist, so you can see which decisions are one-time setup and which you will revisit per product group.

Descriptions are part of the integration

eBay buyers judge listings partly on the description block, and hand-written HTML across hundreds of listings falls out of date fast. A description template lets you design the layout once, insert store fields including metafields as placeholders, and have every listing render consistently.

Description upkeep then becomes a single edit rather than a per-listing chore. The template video below covers how to build one.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Moving an active listing under Salestio control does not end or recreate it. The same listing continues, keeping its watchers, sales history and search standing, while quantity and price start coming from your store.
The integration sends store products out to eBay and keeps listings in sync. Product Import goes the other way and creates store products from your eBay listings. Sellers who began on eBay usually run Product Import first to build the catalogue, then use the integration to keep everything aligned.
Yes, for most eBay sites. You create payment, shipping and return policies in your eBay account and then select them in the Salestio listing settings. A missing policy causes most failed first exports.
Yes. The template holds your layout and pulls product-specific values from store fields and metafields, so a change to the template updates every listing that uses it.
Yes. Listing type is part of the eBay profile settings, so you can create auction and fixed-price listings from store products.
